Anglican Church Registers available online
2019-01-17

The registers were scanned as part of a global digitisation project, which was carried out by the Family History Library of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints in 2018, and can still be accessed through their website "Family Search". The digital files were also made available to participating archives.

We have now uploaded the multipage PDF files of these registers on our Historical Papers AtoM Search platform, where you can download them directly, using this LINK

The inventory of our collection AB3208 provides the listing of the digitised Registers of the Anglican Church in Southern Africa, which cover the years 1850-2004 and include baptism, marriage and burial records. Each church/parish is listed under their respective Diocese. The inventory can be downloaded HERE as well, or can be accessed on our Historical Papers website, using this LINK .

You can also use the website 'Family Search', administered by the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints directly. Please be advised that you will be requested to register on the 'Family Search' website for your FREE access to the digital records of the Anglican Church in Southern Africa (Lesotho, South Africa, Swaziland) - using the link provided in the 'Family Search' box below here.
